Clark Park Youth Soccer is Back This Spring From the Friends of Clark Park: We are also very excited to be able to share that Clark Park’s Youth Soccer league will be back in action this spring. Our soccer league offers a low pressure, community oriented and volunteer fueled sports program for our Clark Park neighborhood. The league enables kids to discover soccer while engaging with a wide community of children from throughout West Philly. It is focused on creating an inclus...ive environment for children of all skill levels & interest levels, our coaching team finds a way for everyone to enjoy a great day in the park. This season will be a bit different with a shorter season taking place on Saturdays from April 24th to June 12th. In order to ensure a safer experience for all, we will also be limiting the league to ages 5-8 to allow for fewer teams. Teams will be smaller, 10-12 children, and games will be staggered through early, mid, or late morning timeslots in order to allow for no more than 4 teams in the bowl at once. Registration will open over the next few weeks so keep your eyes posted on our social properties and email [email protected] if you are interested in participating. http://www.friendsofclarkpark.org/activities/soccer/

Rest in peace to Harley Belance, an 11-year-old shot and killed yesterday evening while riding a scooter in Oxford Circle. We have to create a Philadelphia wher...e Black kids have the freedom to just be kids-- away from danger, and trauma, and bullets. Anything less is unjust. My deepest sympathies to Harley's family and to all who loved him. See more

WHAT IF I APPLIED FOR, BUT HAVEN'T RECEIVED MY MAIL-IN BALLOT? Instead of voting at your local polling place, you will have to vote at one of the city’s 17 satellite election offices, which can be found by clicking here: https://www.phila.gov/voting/. Let them know that you already applied, but did not receive the ballot, and they will give you a replacement to submit on the spot.

"He said that protesters should plan their rallies for places where it would be difficult for violence to break out: in the lobby of an office building or in a car caravan. He told participants to imagine that they were Proud Boys looking to rumble. Ask, ‘What would they welcome?’ And then not do that! he said. One tip, from the civil-rights movement: When in doubt, sit down. It’s counterintuitive. But it has been used in multiple cultures, and it works. (Except with tear gas. Then, he said, walking slowly would be best.) If things do get ugly, he noted, it could be useful for the cause. Get your smartphone and expose what happened. Offer yourself for interviews, he said. The key is to draw a contrast between the violent regime and the peaceful protesters." https://www.newyorker.com//what-can-you-do-if-trump-stages
