Elise gives a tour of our new safety protocol at CAMA.
Based on Pennsylvania and Philadelphia covid-19 recommendations, we are opening this week on a limited basis for people in need of care. Call Elise at 215-266-5757 to make an appointment. We have put in place many changes to make your visit as safe as possible. Masks will be required to enter the space (supplied if needed). Your temperature and oxygen levels will be measured so if you are not feeling well we ask that you cancel your appointment. We will be running on a skeleton staff so you may not get the acupuncturist you are used to. We will be sending out an announcement with more details in the coming week.
Unfortunately, we've had to close CAMA to comply with the City's newest C-19 regs. Stay tune here or on our website: CAMAcenter.com for updates. In the meantime, we're selling the IoWipes we've been using at CAMA for 10 years, which are more convenient and cheaper than Purelle Wipes or bottles. Another in my series of what do vegans eat? Having dinner at the weavers way food co-op in Mount airy Philadelphia's vegan Meetup potluck. Vegan quote of the week: "if you don't know where vegans get their protein oh, you don't know beans!" Credit to dr. Michael Greger

ATTENTION EVERYONE who is interested in the history and landscape that form Mt. Airy: Have we got a series for YOU. We're happy to announce this four-part serie...s coming to Lovett Memorial Library - Branch of the Free Library of Philadelphia. Every other Wednesday from January 15th through February 26th, join us to learn about Mt. Airy's built environment, natural landscape, and how we're doing to protect and preserve both. Jan 15: Elise Rivers from CAMA: Community Acupuncture of Mt Airy will present her pictorial history of Sedgwick Farms, the turn-of-the-20th century development by Ashton Tourison Sr. that shaped so much of East Mt. Airy. Jan 29: Retired environmental engineer and East Mt. Airy Neighbors (EMAN) board member Kelly O'Day will examine what ever happened to the historic Wingohocking Creek in East Mt. Airy and Germantown - and how burying it in a sewer in the 1800s presents challenges today. Feb 12: Preservationist extraordinaire Oscar Beisert will share his expertise as a member of the Mayor's Historic Preservation Task Force and author of dozens of designations on the Philadelphia Register of Historic Places. He'll give a broad overview of Philly's preservation performance and hone in on NW Philly in particular.
