Well Mr. P connected. Many of you know Ben Porkolab as the Elk Country Visitor Centers, Conservation Education Coordinator. I have been friends with Ben for many years and he was instrumental in building Cameron County Outdoor Youth Activities relationship we have with the Cameron County School District where he taught Elementary classes for 19 years. Ben was fortunate to draw a Pennsylvania Elk tag this fall and connected with this beautiful animal yesterday 11/2/20. There is no one that is more passionate about hunting, fishing and conservation education than Mr. P. There is also no one more deserving of this bull than Ben Porkolab. Congratulations Ben!

I am a turkey hunter and love both fall and spring seasons. It is not an easy hunt and most days hunters (at least me) come home empty handed. It is difficult to get young people interested in turkey hunting. However our Cameron County Long Beards Chapter of NWTF is trying to change that. It does my heart good to see young hunters like Gage pursue the sport and be successful. This is His 2nd turkey. Like his brother Cole who I posted a first deer photo of he is also a team member of our Cameron County 4H Air Rifle team. Congratulations Gageyou and your brother are fortunate your family takes time out to take you hunting.

Here’s another GIRLS HUNT TOO post. Last deer season Kadence harvested what may have been her buck of a lifetime. This year she connected with a nice bear during the early muzzeloader season. Congratulations to this Cameron County young lady on a great bear and for keeping our rich hunting heritage alive.

Congratulations to Cole for harvesting his first deer during the recent Youth Deer season. Cole is a 3rd grader and has been a member of our Cameron County 4H Air Rifle team for two years. He is always smiling and I look forward to seeing him each week for practice. I would like to think practicing his shooting skills at Air Rifles has something to do with his success in the field. His smile says it all in this picture.
