Yesterday was Palm Sunday and the start of Holy Week. We gathered together for a beautiful walk around campus and then dyed Easter eggs in the Rose Room. Do you have any Holy Week plans? Share below!

It's Holy Week at Camphill Soltane, a very special time leading up to Easter Sunday spent caring for the land, singing together, and celebrating the arrival of spring! Today we gathered together at Soltane Cafe and tended the garden space, getting it ready for the café's grand re-opening on April 1st!

Dear friends of Sol Kitchen, After closing Sol Kitchen for the duration of this very challenging year, we have decided to close up shop permanently and concentrate our efforts on supporting the success of Soltane Cafe, our flagship social enterprise. We are happy to share that the good folks at Uncommon Ramen will be fully taking over the space and will now be able to offer their incredible food all week long. We are so grateful for the generous and joyful support we rece...ived from everyone who shared a meal with us. We will never forget the special times we had together in this teeny tiny cafe! But don't worry, you can see many of our smiling faces at Soltane Café, just a few blocks down Bridge Street, which will be offering some of the fresh and healthy lunch options you've enjoyed at Sol Kitchen. Soltane Café is reopening on April 1st, hope to see you there! See more

Cate: If you could talk to a young person with Down syndrome, and you could give them some words of encouragement, what would you say? Julianna: I would say, I...f you’re eligible to work, you can get a job! If you’re living with a disability, that’s okay! You can get experience volunteering, or get an actual paid job doing what you want to do in life! I’d tell them, I don’t know how you feel about having special needs, but if you’re scared of having special needs, I can understand that. I’m not scared of having Down syndrome per se, but I understand other people might be afraid of it. I’d tell them, It’s okay to have special needs! It’s okay to cry about it. It’s okay. If you’re struggling, if your parents are struggling, reach out! Happy #WorldDownSyndromeDay! Check out this beautiful interview with professional barista, poet, and visual artist Julianna Baker-Cohen in our 14th issue, Labor. https://www.cordella.org/joyful-vocation

Brrr...it's cold outside! We have missed the cozy Soltane Cafe and our other community spaces every day of the pandemic, especially during these winter months. We hope you all are taking care, keeping safe, and we can't wait to see you all again soon!

It really boils down to this: that all life is interrelated. We are all caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied into a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one destiny, affects all indirectly. Today we remember Martin Luther King, Jr. and his tireless work towards inclusion and social justice for all.

Every year, members of the Parzival & Camphill Soltane community get dressed to the nines and dance the night away at the Tim Tebow Foundation's Night to Shine event, hosted by churches around the world! This year many hosts will be having a virtual event. Check out the link below to find a Night to Shine near you!
