After months of Zoom classes, we recently started holding small, in-person puppy classes again and it has been wonderful to have some of our volunteers and puppies back on campus. During one of our recent puppy classes, the volunteers and their puppies had to complete a scavenger hunt through one of our local towns, Kennett Square! The scavenger hunt had riddles that the volunteers needed to solve and each riddle gave the puppies a training opportunity. The scavenger hunt took the puppies past statues, through a food court, in an elevator and more. It was a fun day for everyone and great training for the puppies!

Today is National Puppy Day! We may be a little bias, but, we think this is one of the best days of the year. It’s a great excuse to spoil our puppies a little more than usual but it’s also a great excuse to share some more puppy photos with you all! The puppies pictured below are just a few of our pups currently in training to become service and companion dogs. It takes several people, countless hours and a whole lot of love to prepare these pups for a life of service. So, in honor of National Puppy Day, we also want to thank the many people who help care for, train, and love our puppies. Not only are you making a difference in the lives of these puppies, you are changing the lives of individuals living with disabilities. Thank you and happy National Puppy Day!

After graduating from CPL in 2016, Abbie was determined to be more independent with Jiffy by her side. Last year, Abbie and Jiffy achieved a major goal living independently! This year, they have reached another milestone, a new full-time job! Abbie shared, We started a new job for a local non-profit at the end of January. We are working full time and I am considered the Director of Outreach and Development. This is so exciting for me as I’ve waited over 2 years for this to happen. I feel very blessed to have Jiffy by my side because the only assistance I need from a person during my work day is over the lunch hour. AMAZING! This is what CPL’s mission is all about! Abbie has increased her independence and made major changes in her life thanks to the support Jiffy provides. Nothing can stop these two!

Grizz, Bellevue and Minzi are sporting their green for St. Patrick's Day! These three are currently being raised at SCI Laurel Highlands, a facility that participates in our Prison Puppy Raising Program. Their staff and inmates do an incredible job caring for and training our pups!
