Huge congrats to #PghCAPA visual art student Donald "DJ" Reid III! He had the opportunity to work with Best Buy for their Positivism Popsocket Black History Month launch. DJ was one of 4 teens chosen to design a Popsocket with a particular theme. He and his Popsocket will be advertised on all Best Buy social media platforms the week of 2/8/21 and then also on Popsocket social media platforms on or around 2/10/21. Can't wait! ArtCenter has scholarship funds this summer in ACX Teens (grades 9-12) and ACX Kids (grades 4-8). All 50+ Teens courses and 30+ Kids courses will be taught online using Zoom; an internet connection and digital device is required. Understanding that families’ summer plans may be evolving, they have added multiple scholarship deadlines in May, June and July to our summer youth program. ACX Teens (grades 9-12): One scholarship covers the full tuition of a Teens classwhich cou...ld be a 10-week course ($300 tuition), a 5-day workshop ($400), or a 4-week Summer Intensive ($1,800). Deadlines May 28 or June 25. ACX Kids (grades 4-8): One scholarship covers the full tuition of a Kids classwhich could be a 7-week class ($275 tuition) or a 5-day workshop ($300 - $500). A student is limited to one scholarship in a program for the summer, but if declined may apply again. Deadlines June 4 or July 2. Starting today, each Friday we'll be distributing free art kits to our neighborhood! Even though our education studio is still closed, we figured our art suppli...es deserved to be making some awesome art! Thank you to @WorkshopPGH for the inspiration! The art kits are available near our Jacksonia St entrance and are free for anyone to pick up. This week we're starting with the basics, some good ole pencils, markers and sketchbooks.
