Exciting news! The Community Action Partnership of Lancaster County's Early Learning Academy - - is now a qualified Pre-Kindergarten Scholarship Organization under Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development Educational Improvement Tax Credit program (EITC). Because child care support programs often have a waiting list, parents are sometimes forced to choose between starting a job or being able to afford child care. Scholarship dollars will be used to support early learners from these families, as well as to support students whose caregiver has experienced a job loss. Please contact Kristy Aurand, [email protected] for more information.

A purse represents a woman’s most personal and private space. It is an expression of identity, it houses her most important documents, and it is often invaded by her abuser in an effort to exploit and dismantle her economic freedom. Now through October 28, support survivors of economic abuse by bidding on a limited-edition purse donated by The Allstate Foundation. One of the Foundation’s primary programs is dedicated to ending domestic violence through financial empowerment o...f survivors. The purse is symbolic of The Allstate Foundation's program because purple is the color of domestic violence awareness and a purse is a symbol of a person’s financial domain. All money raised through auctioning off this purse will go directly to the Domestic Violence Services of Lancaster County's Economic Stability Fund, which assists survivors with expenses related to re-claiming economic freedom.
