Last, but certainly not least on this year's list is the mecca of all cheesesteaks. Opened in 1930 as a place for South Philly's Factory workers to get good food, this little shop on the corner of E. Passyunk has become legendary for the cheesesteak that owner John Bucci had to convince his father to add to the me...nu. 90 years later, and 9 years after I first had it, it's still my favorite cheesesteak in all of Philly. Over 1lb of shaved loin tail meat, grilled onions, and white american all on an amazing Carangi roll cooked together and fresh to order every time. It cannot be beat. Easily one of the best sandwiches in the nation, bar none. John's even was a James Beard award winner a few years back.
