"Helen is an authentic and engaging speaker but more importantly, she is truly an innovative thought leader. I recommend that teachers, counselors, and students involved in life and career choices should explore what Helen has created -- A New Way to Think About Work. Work is not just one department of our lives...Helen truthfully presents how work affects all parts of our lives. The model that she presents gives us the opportunity to look at work within our lives in a very... holistic and interdependent manner and benefits us all. I've known Helen for many years-- she brings a joyful and authentic way to improve ourselves." -- Louise Polis, Resume Writer/Career Transition Strategist

"I refer to Dr. Helen Richardson as my career visionary! A friend recommended Dr. Helen Richardson to me at a time when I felt like I had hit a roadblock in my career. I had just had a child and was trying to figure out what this new life as a working mother would look like. I wanted to make myself more marketable so that I could explore opportunities in any industry and be within close proximity to where we live. More importantly, I did not want to lose myself, or my drive a...nd ambitions. When I met with Dr. Richardson, I was not sure what to expect but would soon learn how good she is at her craft. It is not just her OD/HR skills and Dr. Richardson's "A New Way to Think About Work" model that position her to bring out the best in her clients. It is her compassion and genuine care. Dr. Richardson heard and saw me. By the end of our first session, she casually mentioned a direction she thought I could go in, and while I initially resisted, it has turned out to be transformational for me. This transformation is why I consider Dr. Richardson more than a career coach, as together, we created a vision for my career, and carved out a path that has direction and purpose." -- Patience Ajoff-Foster, MS, CDP, Director of Faculty Development and Diversity at Drexel University

Learn more about Dr. Eugene Richardson, Jr., the inspiration for Find Your Wings!

Career Consciousness 06.09.2020

Eugene Richardson’s career started with a dream. During a trip to the Colored Air Circus in Mansfield, Ohio in 1931, a young Richardson became captivated by the black aviators. His desire to fly was sparked right then and there and later given form when at the age of seventeen he took and passed the test to qualify for pilot training in the Army Air Corps. Eugene’s career is legendary, and he has traveled the world sharing his inspiring story. Eugene believes that great things happen when you hold fast to the three D’sDreams, Desire, and Discipline. He’s a living testimony to this philosophy, which is woven throughout the Find Your Wings model created by Helen Richardson.
