We prepared as best we could for election day, now we are still waiting for official results, all while we watched Philadelphia reckon with not only the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but continued civil unrest in our neighborhoods. This could be an overwhelming and stressful time for many of us. Now, you may or may not have heard, but this is Caring People Alliance’s first year participating in #GivingTuesday. This global day of giving, founded in 2012, is a day that comes on ...the heels of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It is a day when everyone is encouraged to take a break from the shopping, and think about all the good that giving can do. Caring People Alliance is joining this inspiring effort, and we are asking our supporters to become a fundraiser for us, by creating a page on our first ever #GivingTuesday fundraising website. By doing this, you can show your individual support for CPA’s mission, and spread the word with your friends and family. Our organization is facing some unprecedented fundraising challenges. Typically, we rely on a diverse revenue portfolio of government and foundation grants, corporate sponsorships and individual donors. Unfortunately, in the interest of public health, we have not been able to organize any fundraising initiatives and some of the funding we used to rely on is no longer available. Additionally, we are bracing ourselves for a decrease in donations from corporations and small businesses which may be significantly impacted by the economic realities of the pandemic. So, please, spread the good word about #GivingTuesday. Create a page, share it far and wide, and stay tuned for an announcement on top fundraising prizes.
