It’s #FeatureFriday! This week we have Becca Robinson who is a first-year student and a Graduate Assistant in the Professional Counseling program. Becca would like to work with lower income communities to help children and adolescents who lack the mental support they need. Eventually, she would like to open up her own practice focusing specifically on child/adolescent mental health. ... To support her own mental health, Becca sets aside at least 2-3 days each month as well as one hour each day to relax and practice self care such as listening to music or exercising. When asked about some of her favorite things to read, Becca expressed interest in literature regarding politics, finances, dramas, science fiction, and mysteries. She also enjoys staying up-to-date on the current mental health field and how societal factors are impacting it.

GA Opportunity! The Celtic Leadership Institute is a summer-bridge style program for incoming first-year students who are admitted provisionally--that is, they just make the GPA and SAT/ACT cut off for Carlow. They move-in a week earlier than their peers and participate in workshop sessions (resiliency, college life hacks), social activities and begin to build their learning community and meet their success coach. We usually have about 15 students. (see last year's flyer below)
