FROM DAVE’S DESK: Carnegie Mellon had the largest number of undergraduate applications (32,890) ever this year, and admission letters for the Class of 2025 went out earlier this week. Congratulations to all students admitted to the College of Engineering! In the coming weeks we will be communicating with all those students who indicated Civil and Environmental Engineering as their primary interest. We look forward to talking to these students about our unique, innovative undergraduate programs. We will also be inviting them to our CEE Spring CEE events. For current CEE students please introduce yourself to these prospective members of our Class of 2025.
Prof. Costa Samaras quoted in an article by VICE on Electric Vehicle Charging. "I think the proprietary network makes sense from an individual company perspective providing exclusive amenity access to their customers is part of the value proposition, but I don't think it's great from a societal perspective or an EV-adoption perspective, this is like having separate unleaded 87 octane gasoline pumps for Fords and Hondas." http://ow.ly/4Vzy50EdPD5
The @EPA has ranked @CarnegieMellon 10th for university green power. By purchasing 3rd-party certified, renewable energy certificates we receive 100% of our electricity from renewable sources - we continue to find ways to reduce our carbon footprint. http://ow.ly/XKAC50EdOOM
We are thrilled to announce that once again CEE@CMU maintains our top 10 program ranking with USNWR for Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering. #TartanProud!

As part of a research project within the CEE department, students are conducting a study to better understand how COVID has affected your use of transit. Anyone from around the world is invited to participate - it should only take about 5 minutes! The survey will be used to analyze public transportation users' and non-users' behavior to propose recommendations that will hopefully reinvigorate public transportation performance. https://forms.gle/eP3erBjTCwCANcA5A
