Today we honor and remember all of our heroic brothers, sisters, and passengers on American Flights 11 and 77 and United Flights 93 and 175 that lost their lives in the September 11th, 2001 attacks. We remember the 2,977 fatalities and families whose loved ones were taken too soon. We honor our first responders, healthcare workers, military personnel, and all the volunteers who rushed to assist. We remember September 11th and the days and months following of a nation picking up the pieces of an overwhelming tragedy and the world’s support. We remember and support all lives affected still today by the attacks. We remember, September 11th, 2001, then, yesterday, and today, and days to come. We as a nation remember, and we as a nation will never forget.

Now that Garmin has discontinued WAAS upgrades to the 430 along with other services and products in their 400/500 series line, our customers are looking for other solutions when looking to update or replace their units. We recently completed an upgrade on a Commander with a new PS Engineering audio panel and from a Garmin 430 to an Avidyne IFD440. Here’s what the customer had to say: ‘Communications with the new audio panel (PS Engineering PMA8000BT) are now state of the art... with stereo intercom and bluetooth connectivity. The new Avidyne IFD440 is light years ahead of the Garmin 430 that it replaced. The touch screen works great to easily move around a course, and the full color maps make planning much easier. I have to admit that the voice from the Terrain Awareness feature caught me off guard, but I am getting more familiar with the unit everyday. Please thank everyone again for very professional installation. Larry and Jerry kept me informed with their findings and questions along the way, and the proof of their efforts is the final result. Today marks a huge milestone for CAVU as we received our Air Agency Certificate and are now a FAA Certified Part 145 Repair Station. This certification is significant in our aircraft maintenance and avionics business capabilities and shows the experience and commitment of the CAVU team. We will continue to build and grow our business to continually provide our customers with the highest levels of safety and quality work, at a competitive rate to help lower the owner’s operating costs, in a timely manner. We are now certified to do altimeter and transponder checks as required under 91.411 and 91.413 in addition to our other maintenance and avionics services already provided.
