CCAC South Campus Theatre 03.11.2020

Two significant losses to report at South Campus Theatre. Our longest serving volunteer, Bruce Samson, passed away on February 22, 2019. He worked side by side with me for many years, doing all of the things I didn't want to do. He was tireless. He would work after crushing boxes at the food bank and before tutoring math at Woodland Hills. Summer afforded some golf but I could count on him to paint, prop, run a jig saw (for hours) or anything else necessary to create ill...usion. When I became TD at Bethany College, he drove to WV to help me clean their shop. We stood next to each other on September 11, in the student union, watching our country under attack. He was my friend. He was our friend and a tireless volunteer who committed his life to serve others. If I could just be a little bit more like him. We also lost our best housekeeper ever. Bob Rozboril passed two weeks ago. He came to South after years of cleaning the Civic Arena. He was so kind and gentle. I spent many hours talking to Bob as he cleaned our theatre, dressing rooms, offices and hallways. He so loved the conversations. He and JR talked about the Pirates. A lot! He will be missed. They were part of what we did to produce theatre. Just a couple of characters in our life play but so powerful in their regard for our craft. Thankless servants helping us to play! Rest in peace, Bruce and Bob. Thank you.

Getting Black Comedy ready for April 11-14. Peter Shaffer's brilliant farce about the reversal of light. The show starts in total dark and a power outage occurs. Stage lights on plunging the characters into brilliant "dark"! Tonya Lynn is directing.
