Creek Cleanup Project 30.10.2020

As always you know the good, the bad, and the ugly that goes on with CCP, this is no different. Now we have a problem, up till today I had no idea we weren’t Pa sales tax exempt, I was never told about this and didn’t know about it, now the paperwork is being filed but I’m positive that only helps us on future purchases, not what we have purchased. This is bad news for us as we will probably have to pay sales tax on the Argo and Trailer, not sure why it was never brought into... the conversation before today but if we can’t fix this we’ll have to raise the funds for sales tax on the Argo and Trailer. The joys of learning how to run a 501c3 organization, all the headaches of a real business with no pay. We’ll figure it out.

Trailer is Titled and legal. Thank to all that made this possible including Sollenbergers for their help with the tax exempt paperwork and Rex Trailers for giving us such a steep discount on the trailer.

Barry from ThinkEz IT Computer Solutions donated a computer to us a while ago, he also donated his services so if we have any problems, he’ll fix them. This is something we really needed and I have been slacking waiting to get a desk, with the shutdown and all the people working from home and doing online school, they’re a little harder to get right now. Anyways we are up and running and I can finally make some long overdue changes to our website and Facebook.... Don’t forget to check out ThinkEz IT and the services they offer, Barry Arndt’s a good guy and very helpful.

A while back a guy and his son came out with us and they had these cool dry bags, well we liked them so much they decided purchased 3 of them for Braedon, Garrett, and myself. We can’t thank them enough and we’ll put them to good use. Thank You!

As of tonight everything is cleaned up and what is here is organized, the rollback is the last complaint left cause it’s not inspected, they called about both vehicle but the little blue dodge truck that was donated is legal so they are wrong. Not real sure I want the rollback sitting anywhere else but we’ll see, I can agree on everything except what vehicles I can have in my driveway, might be time to change and ordnance, if it’s running and capable of being legal why shouldn’t it be allowed to sit here?

This is a post just for the guys and girls that come out and bust there butts to help get our creeks cleaned up. Show them some love, from the once in a whilers to the diehard every weekenders, they all deserve our praise and a huge thank you. I’ll be the first to say Thank You All for you hard work and dedication to CCP, I truly appreciate the time and effort you all put into this.

We are six miles from the state line, I thought only had three, none the less we’ll go out this weekend and the following and have hit our goal. The original plan was mid to late October so we are on track, I just got ahead of myself, two three mile trips back to back is going to be hard on us, we may take part of November off. I know I’m burned out, there has only been a handful of weekends since August 2019 that I haven’t been in the creek, it’s time to rest and recover.

Thank you to Cathy Goetz and her Girl Scout troop 80176 for coming out today to do a bank cleanup along the Loop Road section of the creek. It was a beautiful day and all had fun. We look forward to working with all of you again in the future! A big thank you to Sweet Rollers they donated a delicious sweet roll for each volunteer to enjoy after their hard work. Thank you again everyone for your help and support. For without you it would make it hard for us to have gotten this far.
