We have been chipping away at out K24 project Tacoma, The frame is in place, the short blocks are sleeved. Over the next four weeks we should have this thing 110% and ready to make some passes. Our next scheduled event is IREV.

Last Saturday we decided to upsize the turbo on the K24 Tacoma, We took the 6266 off and bolted up a 6785 to try and go for a seven second pass. We spooled it up without nitrous with some adjustments (took 10 seconds) but that’s okay since we just wanted to TNT it. Took it to TRC and it made about 580 on the gate. It made a little more power on less boost than the 6266. We then pinned the gate shut and it picked up 65hp. As you can see the powerband shifted. Same trans same rear. We expected to see 900-1000. We believe the stock camshafts are holding us back. Decided to scrap the idea of the 6785 for now. Not sure what is next. Maybe sort some stuff and try for a 7 second pass on a 62mm in the spring? Stay tuned.
