National Cat Day + Throwback Thursday = this great memory from February 2019! On a snowy day, Cedar Crest’s Campus Police received a call about a cat shivering in the cold behind Moore Hall. The catlater dubbed Lt. Fuzzwas brought inside to warm up. With the local animal shelters closed due to the weather, the chief and officers purchased a litter box and some food so Lt. Fuzz could spend the night indoors. The next day, he was taken to The Lehigh County Humane Society in the hopes that his owner would turn up, but after waiting the obligatory 48 hours, no one had claimed him. Lt. Fuzz was then made available for adoption and was immediately taken in by Officer Flyte, who renamed him Gylden. #nationalcatday #throwbackthursday #cedarcrestcollege

Alumna and communication professor Elizabeth Ortiz founded Cedar Crest College’s MLW nine years ago to highlight the power of media literacy education and its essential role in education across the country. 50 Cedar Crest students worked for weeks to put together the first virtual MLW. This annual event features student and expert presentations, film screenings and discussion panels. Each day of the week focuses on one of the five components of media literacy: Access, Analyze, Evaluate, Create and Act. Media Literacy Week
