Central Columbia Little League

Parents, The Central Columbia Little League voted last night that we will not be offering a summer baseball program. We felt that guidelines set forth by Little League International would be too restrictive to offer a program that would be enjoyable for the players and coaches. We apologize for not communicating this information earlier. Our goal the past three months has been to offer some type of baseball program for the kids. Ultimately, we came to the conclusion this ...would not be feasible at this time. Our board now is looking forward to our fall baseball program. We will be monitoring other programs that are attempting summer baseball and other youth sports. We are hoping that the next two months will give us clarity on how to offer a fall ball program that is safe and enjoyable for the kids. Lastly, we have been approached by parents and community members about kids playing and practicing baseball over the past weeks. We want to make it clear that these are not Little League sanctioned events. There are parents using fields to practice with their kids, travel baseball teams practicing, and other pick up baseball games occurring. Again these activities are outside of Little League and are not covered by Little League insurance or liability. Please keep this in mind if you are interested in pursuing any of these avenues this summer. CCLL Board

Hello CCLL families, We recently held a zoom meeting to discuss some things about the season. First of all, we decided that it would be to difficult to cancel the fundraiser at this point. So we are encouraging you to sell your fundraising tickets. We are working on a plan to have you submit your tickets via a google document similar to the online registration. This will eliminate dropping them off in person and will make it easier for our treasurer to pay the winners. We al...so have reached an agreement to refund everyone the field day money as we did not hold any of the field days. Additionally, in the event that the entire season were to be cancelled we would need to refund everyone for registration as well. Since we would like to only issue refunds once we are planning to hold off issuing the field day refunds until there is more clarity on the season. Please contact us for more information. As far the the season goes, we are following Little leagues recommendations to wait until May 11th to decide about a spring season. As you are all aware guidelines and recommendations change week to week and day by day. We are trying to be responsible and flexible. As we approach May 11th, we will take Little League, state, and federal recommendations into consideration as we formulate a plan on the season. We all miss baseball and hope to see you soon!! CCLL Families, We have been closely following the information provided by Little League International about Covid-19 and per their recommendation that it is in the best interest of our players, coaches, and families, to suspend/delay all baseball related operations through May 11, 2020. There will be NO field days, practices, games, team meetings, or any other baseball related events until further notice. As we get closer to May 11th, we will re-evaluate the situation and d...etermine on how or when to proceed with the 2020 season. The CCLL board of directors apologize for any inconvenience this disruption may cause, but, we believe this is in the best interest of our players, volunteers, coaches, and parents. Central Columbia Little League Families: In accordance with Little League International's recommendation found here: http://littleleague.org/coronavirus , the CCLL board of directors has decided to follow the guidelines presented and temporarily suspend all organized gatherings (such as practices and games) for our league until April 6. We feel that it is our duty to take such precautions because the safety of our young players is paramount. As we near the April 6 deadline..., we will reassess our position based on our community outlook and further recommendations from Little League and trusted health organizations. Field Clean up days for Scott, Lightstreet, Lime Ridge, Orangeville, and Mifflinville will still be held on March 21st and April 4th at 9am. Thanks, CCLL Board of Directors
