Brandon Park, Williamsport PA In 1826, Jane Cummings married John Brandon. When she passed away in 1840, her property was passed to remaining siblings and event...ually ended up with her brother, Andrew Cummings. Andrew decided to gift the property to the city as a park in 1889, in order to honor his only sister. The fountain at the Market Street entrance to the park was dedicated in 1901 in honor of Oliver H. Reighard, a local state legislator. Then, in 1914, the bandshell was dedicated. Located near North Market Street, Brandon Park offers 43 acres with facilities for children and adults, alike. The park currently features beautiful grassy expanses, several playing areas for kids, a baseball/softball fields, six tennis courts, and a bandshell for entertainment.
