Food is love! We cannot say enough times - support local restaurants with takeout orders. There are so many we love, and have been loyal supporters of Playschool, so we aren't going to list all. We are also grateful to Pughtown Agway, Gardners Landscape Nursery & the Barn and Colonial Gardens for always coming through with a gift, card, hay bales, planters or Christmas trees for our school! Happy Birthday to our beloved Miss Jean! She turns 93 today! Cards can be sent to school and we will take them to her. She is now in assisted living but wants to be back at school reading more than anything else! Miss Jean connects so fully with each child as she reads, providing calm, security and love. Throughout her career at Playschool (since she was 14!) she has been a model of child-centered teaching, play-based learning, and promoting social/emotional development. No one else comes close to intuiting just what a child needs at a particular moment and communicating with them. We continue to learn from her as she faces the challenges of aging (in a pandemic) with incredible grit and independence. Please share some love for Jean in comments and we will pass them on!

We are so pleased that our Raingarden Grant will be formally announced tomorrow, and to see a showcase of completed projects that protect and enhance our beautiful Schuylkill River watershed. This virtual event is free - rsvp using the link below.
