Camp Hill Cemetery Eagle Scout Project 27.03.2021

Hello All, the last post I had stated that Aidan was done with his project. Tonight he sits for his Eagle Scout Board of Review. Wish him luck!

Camp Hill Cemetery Eagle Scout Project 16.03.2021

Hello all, I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything on the Facebook page but that’s because there hasn’t been much going on. To sum up the last few months we have gotten the signs completed and installed and today I’m happy to announce that Aidan has had his final project signed off by the beneficiary. The last hurdle for his project is a review by the Scoutmaster with signature and then his scoutmaster conference. Then he can have his eagle boarder review. If he finishes that and they approve him for his Eagle Scout. I want to thank everyone who has had a hand in this project it has been a long time in coming thank you all very much!

So today as I’m going through the cemetery doing the GPS mapping of the veterans I see this gentleman who runs through the cemetery and I stop and watch. He begins to run up and down the rows and as he is running down the rows he begins to salute each and everyone of the veterans. The only way that he would’ve been able to do that is because of the veterans flag holders and the flags that are on all of the veterans headstones. What a great tribute he provided for all of those veterans. Thank you

I totally forgot to add photos of the Scout troop assisting Aidan in placing the veterans markers. Here are a few, enjoy!

The final process to the veterans markers is a bit tougher and we need your assistance. We have found out that there is a bronze medallion that can be placed on private markers of veterans such as the ones in the Columbarium. They are free of charge from the VA, but they have to be applied for by the family of the veteran. This a where we need your assistance. Here is a link to the site where they can apply with all of the instruction and the form; https://www.cem.va.gov/cem.../hmm/order_instructions.asp There are several sizes and for all branches of the military. Aidan wants to ensure all veterans are honored. We will also be attempting to reach out to the veterans families since these are more recent. If you know of anyone buried in the Columbarium that is a veteran, please pass this information on to their family. Thank you!
