Last night at 1957 the house siren rang and members responded. Chief 3 requested Squad 4 to assist crews from Station 3 and Rescue 5 at a vehicle rescue located at Ashbourne Rd, and Old York Rd. 7 CFC members responded with Squad 4 to assist the other companies. Together the crews were able to quickly extricate the patients, and secure the associated hazards from the accident. Another example of Cheltenham Public Safety working together for our community!

The 1958 Seagrave 100' Ladder. I remember it had a "Life Net" in the rear compartment. It was the last "RED" Fire Truck before CH&L switched over to White Pumpers in 1965. It is now privately owned.

Last night’s training crew took advantage of the nice weather to focus on drafting and master stream applications. Although this type of water supply is uncommon in urban/suburban areas, there are parts of CFC’s local that have limited hydrant service. Drafting allows a water supply to be established in situations where hydrants are unavailable, or when the water system is being strained due to large scale incidents.

Our area is currently under a tropical storm warning. Heavy rains and winds can lead to flash flooding, downed trees and power lines. Remember, if you see standing water or road closures, turn around, don’t drown!

**Traffic Advisory** Tookany Creek Parkway is now CLOSED between Ashmead and Johns as well as Beryl and Central- due to flooding. Please adhere to the barricades and plan an alternate route.

With the potential for some more heavy rain today, we want to remind everyone to avoid driving through flooded roadways. During the last storm crews from CFC, along with many mutual aid companies, assisted in water rescues involving Tookany Creek and the surrounding area. If you see gates or barricades blocking the roadway, or a river in the road, find an alternative route of travel!... TURN AROUND, DON’T DROWN

Hey Cheltenham! Don’t forget about our parade! We will be following the same parade route we use every year, beginning at 12 o’clock. Have a happy and safe 4th of July!

Cheltenham Fire Company 09.08.2020

Please consider a donation to Berachah Food Pantry as part of your July 4th celebration. We will have a pickup at the end of our drive through celebration collecting items. Please see the note below regarding donations. Thank you in advance! Happy 4th!

To Our Community Members, As we all know, the past 4 months have been challenging for all of us, both locally and globally. In compliance with social distancing, all 4th of July activities within the township have been canceled. After discussing the situation, the officers of Cheltenham Fire Company have decided to continue the tradition of the 4th of July in our district, but in the drive-through fashion that you’ve seen in birthday and graduation celebrations, many of whi...ch the fire company has participated in throughout our district. At 12:00 on the 4th, the Fire Company, along with members of the community that have expressed interest in joining us, will meet at Front and Ashbourne. From there, we will follow the normal route that we use every year. This will be a small event in order to avoid traffic back ups and large gatherings within the community. All participants will continue to adhere to social distancing guidelines and will not exit their vehicles or apparatus. We ask that the community practices social distancing as well. Please avoid gathering in groups, wear masks, and respect other people’s space as the vehicles come through. The participants will be constantly moving to avoid gathering places and to keep our traffic impact to a minimum. In an effort to help some of our hardest hit community resources, we will be collecting non-perishable food items for Beracha Church’s Food Pantry along the route. These donations can be boxed or canned (no glass containers please). A designated crew will collect donations along the route during the event. If possible, please consider donating! Stay safe and see you on the 4th!
