IF you renewed your Drivers License online before May 10, and have received your camera card, you’ll still need to eventually visit the photo center. But if you renewed after May 10, don't worry about having your photo taken. Penndot is now going mail you your actual Drivers License using your last photo to alleviate crowds when the photo center does open.

The DMV is closed until further notice. IF your vehicle registration, inspection, handicap placard, driver’s license or ID card expire between now and April 30, it’s all good until May 31.

So remember if your Drivers License, ID card, permit, State Inspection, Registration or Hadicap Placard expire in March, Penndot has extended your expiration until April 30.

MOBILE HOME titles require a Tax Lien Certificate. This document shows that all property taxes are paid and current. This is needed to transfer the title. You actually can buy it online from the tax claim bureau at the following link: https://www.co.westmoreland.pa.us/2769/Lien-Certificates Or you can go directly to the courthouse and get it. Either way, you'll need it to transfer a mobile home title.

If you or a relative are retired, or on disability SSI or SSD, and your income from all sources doesn't exceed 19,200 gross per year, then you qualify to have one vehicle registered for 10.00 per year, even a truck with a gross weight up to 9000 lb. A 9000 GVWR truck costs 170.00 per year otherwise. Here's a link to Penndot form MV-371. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS TO SEE IF YOU QUALIFY. If so, print and complete the form, attach it to your registration renewal by mail, and make the check out for 10.00 only. Send the form and the application to Penndot for processing.
