CSD families, Based on the weather forecast tomorrow and what I am seeing outside (kids playing in the snow with joy), I have made the decision to make tomorrow the 1st official snow day of the year. So please take the time to enjoy watching your kids sled tomorrow or having a hot cup of chocolate with them tonight or tomorrow in front of a warm fire. For tonight and tomorrow, try to enjoy the fresh air and snow ( wearing a mask and social distancing of course) and remove ou...rselves from a screen. We can leave the seriousness of academics and life for Friday. Enjoy and stay safe. Dan Nerelli, Superintendent

Chichester School District is in need for substitute teachers! We wanted to share this option, for those looking for work to supplement their income: The DCIU Guest Teacher Program is designed to provide individuals with limited or no teaching experience with the necessary training required to become day-to-day substitutes. We are at a critical shortage for subs in our region, and this can help schools continue to function during the pandemic. Find out more about this substitute teacher program (it requires very little!!!) at dciu.org/guestteacher

September Teacher of the Month: Mrs. Cassie Dougherty Cassie has really gone above and beyond with transitioning 5th graders into MS during this virtual setting experience. Cassie has been using the grade level team to create such fun things for her 5th grade students! She has been reaching out to students individually, been super supportive, jumping in to solve issues with students and parents, etc. ... Cassie was concerned about the welfare of her past and present class. Whenever I spoke of a student, she immediately contacted the parents to check on the situation and making personal contact. Cassie also put out an questionaire for her new 5th graders asking personal, engaging questions and then wrote back to each.
