Most people wonder why a baby teeth should be restored with a filling if the patient has a cavity. Baby teeth eventually fall out, but all at different times (between 6 and 12). If a baby tooth is left untreated, the cavity will progress and can turn into an infection that can damage the permanent teeth and cause pain to the face and body. Seeing cavities in younger children can be difficult, but look for certain signs! Sensitivity to cold food and hard foods that can result in a toothache. Prevention is the best way to avoid cavities in both children and adults. Eliminate the sweets, sugary foods and juices, and snacking throughout the day. One last tip to prevent cavities, *Brush 2x a day and Floss!*
