The surrendered life to God is a beautiful thing. We all surrender our lives to something, whether we recognize it or not. And that thing, whatever it is, will direct the path of our lives. Most of these things we are familiar with we surrender to the desire to be comfortable, to be financially secure or even wealthy, to being entertained, to be recognized and honored And some choose to surrender their lives to God. Notice that most revolve around the individual and...Continue reading
We are basically creatures of habit. We like things the way they are and would prefer that nobody rocks our boat. There is a problem with that inclination; God Himself will at times deem it necessary to rock our boats. He desires to jar us out of our complacency and bring us to where we need to be. There’s an interesting story told us in Jeremiah 48:11-12, ’Moab has been at ease since his youth; he has also been undisturbed, like wine on its dregs, and he has not been em...Continue reading

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (II Peter 3:18) It would be beneficial to take some time and ask God what He has been teaching us as individuals through this pandemic. If it is true that God always has a purpose in what He does, then what is He putting His finger on in your life? Many, if not all of us, have heard the concept don’t waste your sorrows. Now would be a good opportunity to apply that principal. (And only this, but we...Continue reading
Let me tell you about my Most High God as He is referred to in Hebrews 7:1. He is the One in charge of it all, everything everything! He is the One who held back the rain for three and a half years during Elijah’s day in response to His people worshipping other gods. (I Kings 17-18) He is the One who caused the rain to pour down after exposing the gods as false and putting them to shame. (I Kings 18:1) This Most High God will do the same for us when we rid ourselves o...f those things, small or large, that hinder our devotion to Him - floods of blessings will follow. What must it have been like for God’s people as they wandered in the desert for 40 years to experience their Most High God’s provision in never letting them go hungry or thirsty for long, never letting their clothing wear out, even while being disciplined? 40 years! (Deuteronomy 29:5) Let me tell you about this Most High God who sent His (ravens), to us that were needed as He did for Elijah to provide him food. (I Kings 17:6-8) As with many churches, we were unable to receive the weekly offerings during the services to meet our financial needs. Yet, even without our asking for help, God laid it on the hearts of His people to send financial help, not only from people in our fellowship, but from others in multiple places throughout our country. The Most High God did that! In Elijah’s day when revival came, attitudes and priorities were changed. And this Most High God used the most unlikely souls to pull it off. When revival came to the early church, people wondered how this could be. How could these unlearned men and women be used in such an amazing way? The how was simple, Theybegan to recognize them as having been with Jesus. (Acts 4:13) He works the same today. Not everyone who heard the apostles share the gospel responded and had their hearts and priorities changed. But some did. And we can likewise change because we have been with Jesus. Is it any less a miracle when hearts, attitudes, and priorities are changed then when God provided in the wilderness or held back the rain? No, it is no less a miracle. Why is our God called The Most High God? Because that is who He is! In Matthew 28:17 we are told, That when they saw Him, they worshipped Him. They didn’t worship Him just in song, or for the moment, they worshipped Him with their lives. And they overcame him (Satan) because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death. Revelation 12: 11. So what will my response to this Most High God be? What will yours be? What do we have that would be worthy enough to give Him? Oh little drummer boy, give it your all
