The son and daughter-in-law of a member of our ‘Friday Families’ lost everything in a fire last weekend in Harding. The couple, their 3-year old son and their 3-month old daughter are all safe but rebuilding their lives is going to take time. Even though our Friday Families haven’t communed since March, never forget that you’re still all important to us. We don’t just use the term ‘Family’ lightly either. Families always do their best to help each other in times of need. Time...s aren’t the easiest for a lot of people right now but if you are able help them out, I’m sure it would be greatly appreciated. Those who have visited us during the week probably know resident guard dog Satchmo. Well, after 14 years of working at Chuck’s, Satchmo left us to pursue that big tennis ball in the sky. He had a lot of responsibilities at Chuck’s Auction. From screening people who came inside....to ensuring people took time out of their days to take in the simple pleasure of throwing a tennis ball for a dog....to soaking up the sun in that one spot on the loading dock so he could work... on his tan. Satchmo always made sure he left everyone with a smile and it’s sad (but true) that the reason he’s no longer with us is due to something we always knew about him and his personality: His heart was just too large for this world. We’ll miss him dearly and we’re forever grateful we had the time with him that we did. We at Chuck’s are all better people for the joy he brought into our lives.
