Church of Our Saviour, DuBois 27.03.2021

Still taking RVSP until Friday, Feb. 19th Dear Church of Our Saviour Members The Bishop’s Committee has reached out to the diocese for help in finding a priest to replace Father Zeke and we are now working with Fr. Jason Shank Missioner for Congregational Vitality and Transitional Ministry for his help. He has met several times with the Bishop’s Committee through Zoom.... As a next step in our process, we would like to invite you to a very important and exciting dayan online Day of Discovery. The Day of Discovery is a gathering that helps individual congregations discover their unique purpose in furthering the mission of Christ from their particular region within the diocese. It is an energizing day centering on conversations about who we are when we are at our best and what we value as a community of faith. It is also a time to express our hopes for the future. The Day of Discovery will provide input from the congregation directly to the Bishop’s Committee as they work on articulating goals and identifying the core values of the congregation. Identifying goals and core values will help us define not only the gifts and strengths we have to offer to a potential clergy person, but will also help us identify what characteristics we think we are looking for in a potential clergy person. This information makes clear to newcomers or others in the wider community that we are serious about our faith and how we live out that faith. This day and the information we gather will also help as we continue to discern a path forward during this time of transition. Our online Day of Discovery is scheduled for February 27, 2021 from 9:00 am 3:00 pm with a break for lunch. It will be led by Fr. Jason Shank. This event will be held through ZOOM and more information will be available prior to the Day of Discovery. Every person in our congregation is a valued child of God and every person has a story to share about his or her church community. Please plan to participate and encourage others to do so as well. If you are able to attend, please RSVP by February 13th by sending your response to Melissa Hrinya at [email protected] We look forward to spending this time together as we continue to take the next steps in our search process. In Christ, Mary Jones, Senior Warden In Christ, Melissa
