Education By January 1, 2021, individuals who provide individual services through Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) services shall meet one of the following: (1) Have a certification as a BCaBA. (2) Have a certification as an RBT. ... (3) Have a certification as a BCAT. (4) Have a behavior health certification or behavior analysis certification from an organization that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute. (5) Have a high school diploma or the equivalent of a high school diploma and have completed a 40-hour training covering the RBT Task List as evidenced by a certification that includes the name of the responsible trainer, who is certified as a BCBA or BCaBA. (6) Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the provision of behavioral health services. Experience For the purpose of evaluating paid work experience, a "job that involved direct contact with children" is a job such as a position working directly with children or adolescents in the mental health, mental retardation, early intervention, children and youth, juvenile justice, education, drug and alcohol, day care or health systems. Time for which an individual received a stipend or payment for work experience obtained for educational credit or required for a college degree or professional license may be included in the calculation of either educational credit or paid work experience, but not both. The Behavioral Health Technician will be responsible for providing high quality, individualized therapeutic interventions in the home, school and community settings. Employment is at will and voluntarily entered, and you are free to resign at will, at any time, with or without notice, with or without cause. The BHT reports directly to the Master’s level lead on their case and also is supervised indirectly by the Clinical Director. All practices performed by the BHT are legal, moral, ethical, and reflect the mission and vision of the agency. Job DutiesThe BHT is an as available staff member that shall be responsible for; BHT services consist of implementing the ITP. An individual who provides BHT services may not provide interventions requiring skills, experience, credentials or licensure that the individual does not possess. The communication of relevant client information to the members of the treatment team, including but not limited to; parents, teachers, mobile therapists, behavioral consultants, prescribing psychologists, psychiatrists, and other BHT workers. Gather information for inclusion into the diagnostic evaluation, behavioral assessments/intervention plans, and the comprehensive treatment plan.
