Thank you to everyone that came out to the Hell Bent Rocks the Clearfield Skatepark event. It was awesome to see all of the support for our local skatepark. The event raised $1,500 for future repairs and ramp projects! Thank you to Dale Confer for envisioning the event and bringing resources and people together to make the day a success. A special thank you goes out to Chris Shaffer, Richie, Chuck Bungo, Clayton Condon, and Matt Hertlein of Hell Bent for bringing their ol...d school rock and heavy metal wizardry to the skatepark. Their performance was supported by Shady Shaffer who ran sound, Justin Swisher of PA State Sod who donated the flatbed trailer for a stage, and Joe Johns who transported the trailer to and from the skatepark. Justin Rothrock and Tyler Rothrock from Box 125 clothing company printed custom shirts that were designed by Josh Jozefick, with profits going directly into the skatepark fund. Anyone interested in purchasing an event shirt can visit https://www.boxonetwofive.com//save-the-green-skatepark-fu. Carly Starkey and her husband, John, organized a grab and go concession stand with profits going to the skatepark fund. Steve and Bridget Spingola from Stromboli Land attracted their loyal patrons and made a generous donation to the skatepark. Leslie Stott and the Clearfield Borough street department coordinated saw horses and cones to block off the performance area and provided a porta-potty. Throughout the afternoon, we observed joy, kindness, and generosity that highlights the importance of this facility in our community. The committee will spend the winter months planning projects and events for the spring of 2021. Anyone interested in donating to the Clearfield Skatepark can mail donations to Clearfield Skatepark Fund, 6 S. Front Street, Clearfield PA, 16830. Checks should be made payable to Clearfield Borough with a memo Skatepark. Donations that are designated for the skatepark are eligible to be claimed as a charitable donation on income taxes. Stay posted for information about future events through our Facebook and Instagram pages. Photo Credit: Norman Kyler
