On Tuesday evening, the CASD Board voted to deny CCSI's charter. Don't worry - we will not be deterred and work will continue to open CCSI! Unfortunately, across the state of PA charter applications are routinely being denied, often without valid justification, by the school districts who are tasked by current PA law to authorize a charter applicant when the required criteria are met. CCSI Founders will appeal the decision through one of two options - a re-application to CASD or a submission to the PA Charter Appeals Board.

The CASD has informed CCSI that the Board of CASD will vote on CCSI’s charter application at their regularly scheduled public meeting on Tuesday, February 26th at 7pm in the CASHS Auditorium. Public support at this meeting would be greatly appreciated if you want CCSI to open, come to the meeting and voice your support! If CCSI’s charter application is approved, work will continue to open CCSI. If denied, CCSI Founders will appeal the decision through one of two options - a re-application to CASD or a submission to the PA Charter Appeals Board.

Update from the CCSI Hearing: Our second hearing before the CASD Board took place on Monday evening. The CASD Superintendent and her administration provided their response to our "Application for a Charter" via a written report and a lengthy reading of some of the report (yawn!). Their response was foreseeable and did not support our Application. This was expected and we do *not* view this as a setback, it was predictable. Next Steps: CCSI Founders and our attorney will draft a written response to the CASD report and provide to the CASD by February 7th. Then the Board of the CASD will have to hold a public vote on our "Application for a Charter". The vote must take place by early March. Stay tuned to our FB page and website for updates!
