Hey gang! Back when I started reading comics (Hint: dinosaurs still roamed the earth), fans could find them at grocery stores, drug stores, newsstands, etc. They were everywhere! My first comic was purchased for me at an IGA grocery store in Drums, PA. I can still remember it! As time went by, shops like ours became the destination for comic collectors as other outlets stopped carrying them. Hey gang! Where does the time go? Many many moons ago, back in September of 1992, ye humble shop owner, with more guts than brains (Still lol), opened up the first COMICS ON THE GREEN at 328 N. Washington Avenue, just across the street (Now Abe's Deli) from our current location. We didn't have our grand opening until October, but we were setting up shop and getting new arrivals to fill the shelves for what would eventually be a weekly routine for thousands of customers over t...he years. We were there for the speculator boom, the eventual crash from that boom, Marvel bankruptcy, publishers coming and going, distribution wars, collector fads, expanding the store twice, pandemics, etc. The one constant has been our commitment to this art form we love so much, and sharing it with our customers. As we enter our 29th year, I just have to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who's supported us through thick and thin. Heck, we have customers that have been shopping with us since day one, and we have new faces that are just discovering all this industry has to offer. We appreciate you and we feed off your energy. This year has been an...interesting one to say the least, but with your help, we've weathered the storm well, and are prepared to keep selling these crazy pop-culture items for years to come.
