Friends, perhaps more on this than any other Martin Luther King Jr Day we are reminded of the sheer breadth of work that remains to be done before we can achieve a vision like the one described in the unforgettable I Have a Dream speech. The enormity of the task before us is certainly overwhelming, but it's never too late to start. In an effort to help you feel just as effective as you will be reflective today, we’d like to offer you a new initiative happening at Pitt right... now through the Office of Interfaith Dialogue and Engagement: Interfaith in Living Color. Much of King’s work was inspired and informed by his interfaith work, and this project seeks to do the same by cataloging the stories and experiences of those of diverse backgrounds throughout the Pitt community. Designed in the style of the Humans of New York project, and recognized with the Racial Equity and Interfaith Cooperation Award from the Interfaith Youth Core, this is an excellent way to share and learn the stories that make us human.
