Hello South Central Pa! Hard to believe a year has passed since COVID reared its infectious head. But we are hanging in there, and hope that all of our Compassion Transport fans are doing likewise. Now that vaccines are making their way into the valley we want to help as many receive the COVID 19 shot as possible. And to do our part, we are offering round trip transportation for your shot at a significant price reduction. Here is how it will work.... Once you have made arrang...ements to receive your shot, give us a call and let us know when you are scheduled. 1. We will give you an appropriate time to pick you up and transport you to your vaccine location. 2. We will wait for you while you receive your vaccination and the additional 15 minutes required to ensure you don't have any adverse reactions to the shot. 3. We will then return you home. Typically, this round trip service plus wait time might cost $65 to $75. However, for this special occasion and to help get everyone desiring the vaccine there and home reliably, we are offering our service for just $25.00. All you need to do is call at least 24 hours in advance of your assigned vaccine time, and we will do the rest. Our vehicles are clean, comfortable and sanitized between every transport to ensure there is minimal risk, if any at all, to COVID 19 exposure. ALSO, during this time, only one client per vehicle at a time is allowed. Again, minimizing any undo risk to you. Hello friends throughout south central Pa. The COVID 19 situation continues to worsen and everyone is beginning to feel the pressure and pain of not knowing what will happen, how it will affect the wellbeing and health of our loved ones, and how severe the financial impact will be for everyone. Personally, I feel the worse for us in south central Pa is yet to come. I hope I'm wrong, but I fear for the worse. We transport the sick, the injured and those special needs adults th...at have no other means to move about. We see the increasing number of illnesses and even worse, the increasing amount of fear in the demographic we serve. People are afraid to move. I have never seen this type of deep concern in people in my life. On our end, we have pulled every driver off of the road except for myself and occassionally Ruth when needed. I want to minimize the amount of risk and exposure to catching or spreading this monster if possible. Cars are cleaned and sanitized before and after every transport. We are doing everything we can to ensure your safety and well being. We are here if you need us. We can get you to appointments if still scheduled, take you for groceries, and, even do the shopping for you if you choose not to expose yourself. Anything we can do to assist anyone during this crisis, please, just ask. Yes, its about business, but more so, its about helping and serving our community through this unknown hell we are facing. EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY!!! In an effort to protect our employees and our clients from the risk of infection from Coronavirus, Covid-19, we have decided to streamline our hours of operation for the foreseeable future. Beginning today, March 17th, our new hours for SCHEDULED transports will be 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday. We will not be available to take requests for transports during the evening, overnight or on weekends. ... IF, you have a NECESSARY transportation need during a time other than the 9am to 5pm window listed above, please contact us directly at 717 688 9498, and will will discuss that need on a case by case basis. While we want to be available to help everyone possible, it is imperative that we minimize the potential risk of infection to our employees, and, especially to you our clients. Rest assured we are taking every precaution available to ensure our drivers are safe, our vehicles are clean and you our clients are transported in as safe an environment as possible. Because of these drastic measures, we may ask you for information that normally wouldn't be asked so we can assess the potential risk for all involved in our business. It is our hope and prayer that this issue passes quickly and without incident so that we may return to meeting your needs as soon as it is safe to do so. Ruth Lawrence and I had the opportunity to meet with Representative Ecker and Chad Reichard from Congressman Joyce's office to discuss the great need for safe and reliable personal transportation. Compassion Transport's goal is to provide "Threshold to Threshold" transportation to anyone who is unable to drive, including those receiving medical treatments, Seniors who no longer drive and our Special Needs citizens who are using their gifts and talents to make this such a great community.
