It’s a beautiful day in the city. Right now we have a couple individuals getting some community service hours while picking up garbage on our city streets and ...roadways. Which brings up a great idea. If we all committed to keeping our 40 feet (property line) free & clear of garbage our city would remain clean & litter free. How do we do this? First and foremost we all need to commit to put our garbage in garbage cans with lids (city ordinance). This will keep it from wild animals and keep it from blowing around on our city streets. There are garbage cans along crawford Ave & pittsburgh street too. Makes it easy to put your garbage in when walking about the city. City wide clean up volunteer day will be April 24th City Spring garbage day will be May 8th. Hope to get groups and individuals help get our city ready for the spring & summer. More info will announced soon. Thank you!

They will st...art at 4am. 2 main line valves will be replaced. They are hoping to have all work completed in 4 hours. Residents & businesses will be out of water during these repairs. Traffic control will be in place for our morning commute. Please plan accordingly. See more
Once again we as a community need to support our small business owners as much as we can. #buylocal #supportlocalOnce again we as a community need to support our small business owners as much as we can. #buylocal #supportlocal
Hello all! I have always said that one of the greatest assets of the Connellsville School District is their Career & Technical Center. Big thank to the Pepera...k family for making a donation in their late sister Patty Peperak’s name to the Cosmetology program at the career & technical center. This donation will help students acquire items needed for the program. Below is the official statement from the Cosmetology Program. The Connellsville Area Career & Technical Center Cosmetology program was recently given a donation in honor of the late Patty Peperak, former resident of the Connellsville area and graduate of Connellsville Area Senior School District. Patty’s siblings and family wished to donate to a cause that would represent some of Patty’s characteristics. Patty was remembered by her family as a person who was classy and elegant. These are the characteristics that students attain to reach while working on their patrons as well as themselves. The instructor Trudy Nicholson, would like to publicly thank Patty’s family for thinking of her students and program when looking for somewhere to donate to a cause. Many times the students struggle to pay for the smocks and must fundraise in order to pay for them. During this present crisis it is even harder for them to find the money to pay for extras, such as uniforms. The first photo is a picture of the late Patty Peperak. Shown in the second photo are several of the students that benefited from the donation. Students are from left to right: top row Hayley Buddemeyer, Kyndell Hutzell, Kiara Firestone, Emma Ritenour, and Makenzie McCartney, and bottom row are from left to right: Olivia Bryner, Payten Eutsey, Guinevere Albright and Natasha Miller. There were a total of 26 smocks purchased for the freshmen class as well as any new students that hadn't already purchased a smock in previous years. There was enough money left over to apply the remainder of money from the donation to next years smocks.
Reminder: Adults and children in need of a coat, please visit the 2nd floor at the Community Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning 10 AM until 2 PM for a coat. All questions, please call: 724-626-1120.
