Dear Parents and Guardians: Although the school year is coming to a close, our food service program (https://www.basdk12.org/Content2/1608) will remain active through the summer. As many of you know, we have been providing two meals a day, seven days a week to almost 2,000 children in our district.... If your children are already receiving meals, you do not have to do anything else. Your children will continue to receive food service through the summer. If your children are not currently receiving food service, but you would like to, please use this link to sign up: https://docs.google.com//1FAIpQLSfuI6X9P4ibxdWu-h/viewform. You only need to sign up one time and your children will receive meals through the summer. The only requirement is that you reside within the Butler Area School District and your children are 18 years of age or younger. You do not have to qualify for free/reduced meals or meet any other requirements. This is open to all. Pick up and delivery options will be available all summer. If you are already receiving meals, your food service will continue via pick up or delivery (whichever preference you have already selected). If you select pick up, meals can be picked up at either the Center Avenue Community School or the Emily Brittain Community Partnership and Demonstration School between 11 am and 1 pm. On Friday, you will be given meals for Saturday and Sunday when you pick up. If you select delivery, meals will be delivered on Monday, Wednesday and Friday to those who have signed up. On Monday, you will receive meals for Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday, you will receive meals for Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday, you will receive meals for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We want to thank all of our employees who have been working throughout the school closure to make our food service program possible. We hope our families find it helpful. Sincerely, Brian J. White, Jr., Ed.D. Superintendent Butler Area School District

Good morning Connoquenessing Elementary! This is our last week of school!! What a different year it has been! I want to congratulate all of you for making this year so special. You have made it through a year and an event that no other students in our lifetime have ever had to experience. You have learned many new things this year. Not just things that you would have normally learned in your grade level, but things that most students never had to learn during a typical sc...hool year. You have learned flexibility. You have been flexible in the way you have learned. You have learned to work remotely, away from school, and without your teacher next to you. You have learned to be independent. You have had to be independent in many ways that you did not have to be before. Some of you have had to get your own breakfast or lunch. Some of you had to learn to navigate through Clever and the internet to access daily assignments on your own. You have learned patience. Patience is what you have had while you have waited for your parents and teachers to learn how to approach remote learning. You have been patient with your teachers as they learned how to build and deliver lessons in a new environment. You have had patience while you have hoped for school to reopen this year. And you have learned perseverance. Perseverance means that you have not given up. You have continued to try to learn and do your work in a new way. I congratulate each and every one of you for all that you have done this year. I wish I had that crystal ball to look in and see what August holds. But as of now, I do not know what next year will look like. However, there is one thing that I do know. I know that your teachers and I will miss you very much. We care about you and think about you every day. We are all hoping and looking forward to seeing you in the fall. Have a wonderful summer!
