One of the things we look for in persistent neck pain and headaches is eye tracking issues, article on eye health with increased screen time, the eyes direct our head and eye movement in some interesting ways, keep it tuned up https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-55933168

Making simple exercises more valuable, teaching new tricks with our trusty bird dog The bird dog is a standard in rehabilitation, but some patients dont quite get the benefit we want. One common compensation pattern is to control the pelvis with thigh muscles, hamstring and rectus femoris for pelvic tilt control with it band are usual suspects, rather than short hip muscles and our abdominal cylinder, which would be desired for low back, pelvic, hip and knee pain patients am...ongst other things We can use a simple ankle pump to scramble our lower limb flexor and extender groups, exposing any weakness in the hip, torso and scapula, have to find it to fix it, will show up as loss of balance and exertion increase, also can tease out scapular dysfunction and lack of oblique abdominal sling activation tying the body parts together Fixing all those is a topic for another day Give it a try #birddog #birddogexercise #lowbackrehab #backexercises #motorcontrol #lowbackpain #hiprehab #abdominalsling #backpaintips

A must listen for any MD, an internal medicine MD discusses how he integrates McKenzie MDT into his practice. Interesting commentary on continence, trigeminal and sinus issues along with long term changes in pain presentation which have the same treatment. Love his youtube channel and case presentations. Fits in nicely to the Primary Spine Practitioner model of assessment and treatment.

New mask chart in office, still talking myself out of Doc Vader DC, only gripe with this would be batman placement in the chart, he would figure out a UV shield or something like that to protect himself.....and more importantly others All credit to xkcd #xkcd #staysafepittsburgh

Fine tuning rotator cuff exercise, we cant forget the contribution of our upper arm musculature crossing the shoulder, here we can add a little more tricep bias during internal rotation in 90 degrees of abduction, partly therapeutic and partly diagnostic, asks a question about the balance of our long head of the triceps with the rest of the glenohumeral musculature If shoulder rehab is lagging, easy modification to see if there is bicep dominance, especially with long head bicep issues of a more overuse onset #shoulderpain #longheadtricep #shoulderrehab #shoulderinjury #rotatorcuff

While observing this set of detour signs on the famously straightforward street grid of pittsburgh, thought about helping our patients navigate through the muscle joint and nerve aspects of healthcare. These signs aren't confusing since I've gone through the insane intersection of negly/centre/baum/roup with the random Hertz in the middle of it countless times, so wouldn't have an issue with detours, but to someone passing through for the first time, would be a total pain an...d standard GPS might not cut it Just a reminder that part of our job is to be a guide for our patients, help them with what our skillset provides and make sure we call in physiatry, opthamology, neurology and whoever else to make sure they stay on the path and get better, have to combine clinician and technician to manage the case and get the best results #pittsburghstreets #spinecare #pittsburghjointpain #chronicpain #pittsburghchiropractor #patientsfirst #casemanagement #primaryspinepractitioner #primaryspinecare

Having some issues with your side bridge? oblique, diagonal, mcgill, whatever assuming you have a knee on the ground, the contact area and its sensory input as a base of support can make the difference when it comes to getting a balanced workload across the hip Sometimes we have to use a pad or bolster, such as THE OFFICIAL MCKENZIE LUMBAR ROLL, placed under the downside knee to sort of make a knee orthotic, improving the base of support and subsequent cocontraction of the mu...sculature Knee vs thigh size can throw this off sometimes, leading to an awkward movement, this can be a simple fix One of my favorite exercise positions, can fix so many things from this starting point, sort of the crossroads of movement development #sidebridge #dns #dnsrehabilitation #motorcontrol #mcgill #backpain #hippain #sideraises #obliquesit #diagonalsitsideraise #dynamicneuromuscularstability #mckenzieroll #sideplankvariation #developmentalkinesiology
