Videoing yourself is a fantastic learning opportunity. . Visually seeing what patterns you have more or less proficiency in, where your rigidity limits your mobility, where you reach into flexibility without stability. . The minds eye of the body is a vital sense to develop AND we often THINK we are OR aren’t doing things, that we only realize we had a blind spot to, after seeing them visually.... . From a short video, I see a LOT that needs cleaned up. I also see some things that are better than I thought. Study yourself! See more

Working on a new steel mace flow after a friend’s class. . Being an overthinker, first I plan to work on building competency in the pattern. Then, I seek to refine details of clean transitions and strong postures. Finally, it’s time to employ tensegrity or active structural tension as well as flowing with more creativity, building off of this. . Flow is fun! ... . #mace #maceflow #steelmace #steelmaceflow See more

Client experiencing tight hypertonic calves with cramps while walking, standing, etc. Life without supportive landing gear can literally make every step a struggle. (Cue The Police ) . We began our session with an assessment of posture & basic activities of daily living (A.D.L.s) like walking, standing, etc. Posture, static or dynamic (stationary or moving) effects everything we do. . With the calves as the focus of our session we began with massage & manual therapy addres...sing the shins, calves, & feet (nothing in the body works in isolation). After opening things up & getting a feel for what lies beneath, we went through a few rounds of Muscle Energy Techniques to do our deep work in a way that allowed the clients body to better understand & incorporate the new muscle length it was getting & to do our deep work (no elbow drop necessary). We then used massage cupping to address fascial adhesions, & finished with a round of the HyperVolt to open deeper tissues & activate the mind muscle connection to the new muscle tension balance we created. . This isn’t always Relaxation work. However, Deep Tissue doesn’t mean beating the crap out of clients. I work on clients with an outcome & intension in mind & tailor the work toward serving those needs. . How do you feel & move? Are you performing & living in a way that serves your needs & lifestyle? How can I help? See more

My highest goal for any session is for clients to feel better & understand their bodies more than when we began working together. . When someone let’s you know that they understand that and without being asked it’s such a blessing!

Teaching friends some Rope Dart basics. . At times cues like square your shoulders, lower your center of gravity, etc are too cumbersome. In these instances you start singing Gangnam Style!

You can’t eat healthy & cheap on the go. False! . Salad mix, fruit, nuts, olives, guacamole, canned veggies, containers, refillable water bottle. . These aren’t an example of ideal choices but they are certainly better choices than many other options. They require at most a fridge & cooler & you can donate or pack the containers.... . This is and all that I’ll be eating while I’m on training in Memphis Tennessee but it certainly saves me money and allows me to eat cleaner meaning that I can feel good about getting some world famous barbecue! Learning to properly don the Gar Nal with the help of my friends @tombillinge & @frankenlegs. . This 60 lbs Stone Necklace was better than I thought on the neck once I trusted it. It’s all about working within ones capacity while pushing barriers especially mentally! . I made a Gar Nal all a while back but didn’t understand the importance it played in neck training to resist flexion or a lock in wrestling. Studying with greats like Tom teaches more than movement it provides... a reasoning & rational for it! #garnal #bullculture #akhara #necklace #stonenecklace See more

History is being made! . I have been privileged, humbled, and honored to be one of the first people in the Americas to be trained in the fundamentals of Pahlavani Persian Yoga a martial arts strength and conditioning system that is about as old as recorded history & one that current and ongoing physical training science is proving the validity of. . However, those things aren’t where history was being made this weekend necessarily. What stands out even more and what I want ...to highlight are my sisters in strength who are among the first women in modern history to be able to be trained in this system. . Breaking barriers and spreading the love of this art & building a strong community by enhancing subtle body & gross spirit are elevating us to new heights! Together we are stronger! When we are stronger we are better able to pursue the truth & serve one another! We are united! We are growing together & preparing to use these gifts to serve the greater good! . I’m so thankful to be a part of this! See more
