Crary Hose Company

In 2020, Crary Hose members responded to 362 incidents and invested over 3,978 personnel hours into our company. 1,599 of those hours were incident-related and the rest were for training, meetings, work sessions and fundraisers. We provided aid to our neighboring companies on 51 calls and were provided aid on 11 calls. We had 10 members respond to 100+ calls, and one responded to 227 calls. Our volunteers invest so much of themselves to provide our community with profession...al-grade emergency services. We would like to take a moment to thank them for their dedicated and valiant service last year. During a global pandemic, our volunteers, and those of our neighboring fire companies and EMS services, really stepped up. We couldn't be more proud of their service. 2/22/21 @ 04:16 : Dept 5 was dispatched automatic aid to assist on a reported structure fire. Ladder 5-9, Chief 5, Chief 5-30 and Captain 5-80 responded. All units returned available by 07:30. Thank you to those who responded.

Our firefighters would like to thank the Crary Hose Auxiliary and members Linda Bisel and Clara Ianson for delivering pizza to the firehall during recent fire calls for our stand-by crews and for the guys coming back from the scene. Nothing makes you feel more appreciated than have some food waiting for you after a job!

With 2020's end I would like to Thank all the members of Crary Hose for their distinct professional efforts. We responded to 361 incidents including medical calls,structure fire's,motor vehicle crashes, etc. The members had to overcome many challenges including Covid 19. Crary Hose purchased a UTV Rescue 5-28 plus trailer, a Seagrave Rescue/Engine Engine 5-3, and a new Chevy 3500 Pickup Squad5-18, various equipment, etc.The strive of the members was unbelievable. I also want Thank the Municipalities Westfield Borough, Westfield Township, Brookfield Township, and Hector Township for all their support. Doing more to help people in need is a great New Year's resolution. There is no better way to help people than becoming a first responder or volunteer here at Crary Hose Company. We believe there is a purpose and a role for all people in emergency services, whether that means taking the nozzle on an interior fire attack or donating your time to help with fundraisers. Although COVID has wreaked havoc with our drill schedule, we are usually at the hall Monday Nights at 7pm. Stop by, get a membership application and discuss how you can help make a big difference in your community. Have a safe and happy New Year's Eve. Then, starting Jan 1, let's work hard to make 2021 the comeback year to remember!
