City Announces Additional $30 Million in Funding for Rental Assistance and Small Business Relief

The COVID-19 Relief Pennsylvania Statewide Small Business Assistance program will provide grants ranging from $5,000 to $50,000 to small businesses that have been economically impacted by COVID-19. This is not a first-come, first-served program. There will be multiple rounds of application windows. Within this allocation, the Department of Community and Economic Development has been allocated $225 million for COVID-19 relief to small businesses through a distribution to Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs). Apply through a CDFI today.

Folks, Here is follow up information to what I posted last week about help for Small Businesses! Please share this information that help is available through lo...cal CDFI offices. The state has created a grant program giving up to $50,000 to help businesses hurt by COVID-19. There’s also money specifically set aside for businesses owned by socially and economically disadvantaged people. We’ve been working with Gov. BREAKING: The IRS has created a new hotline you can use if you are waiting on your economic impact payment. You can call 1-800-919-9835 and get answers on the status of your payment. They have automated services and are adding call center representatives, now.

"Many Americans who are eager to know when their stimulus payment is coming can track it through the Internal Revenue Service’s ‘Get My Payment’ tool. But for many, the tool hasn’t provided the needed information and, instead, caused confusion."

Pennsylvania's new Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) website for self-employed, independent contractors, gig workers, and others not eligible for regular unemployment compensation (UC) will begin accepting applications within the next few days. PUA is included in the new federal unemployment compensation benefits provided by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. The Department of Labor & Industry (L&I) will announce when the PUA website is ready to accept applications. In the meantime, Pennsylvanians who meet eligibility requirements are strongly encouraged to begin gathering the information they will need to file an accurate claim and receive benefits quickly.
