I posted the following on a Parkland School District FB page, but wanted to extend this information to East Penn families as well: "I'm struggling with a decision and I wanted some honest input. First, I am a mother of 3 elementary kids in Parkland, K, 1, and 4. I am a SAHM and run a small business. I own Creative Learning Lab on Hamilton Blvd. We considered opening our doors during the day to create a "pod' learning environment for those who needed help with virtual learning... this year. Within the last few days, it has come to my attention that there is even more of a need now that we have gone hybrid for parents to get help with virtual learning. My questions is this: Would there be a need for half-day help for virtual learners? We would consider opening up and taking approx 6-10 kids a day for a few hours in the morning to help with work. We have an upstairs and downstairs, so kids could sit with kids in their own approx grade level. I'm already looking into partitions for our art classes, so they would be provided. Masks would be required. We would only consider full-day care in an extreme case and with sufficient help, but right now do not plan on providing it. We would need to charge parents who decided to use our facility/space/instructors. If there are people out there who are genuinely trying to find some part-time help for their kids, we could make it work. All this being said, we would help bring in capable individuals who would help with virtual learning, have their clearances, and feel comfortable in this situation, myself included. A quick turnaround is evident. If you feel like this is something you would appreciate and use, or feel like you want to make some extra money helping out, please email me directly at [email protected]. Again, the bottom line is that we just want to help."

Day Jam 101 onsite camp will keep registration open through the end of this week. We currently have 8 spots open. Camp runs outdoors the week of July 27th from 9-11:30. Cost is $180. Call 610-351-9933 for more information.

CAMP IS OPEN!!! Day Jam 101: July 27th through July 31 After much thought and consideration, we have decided to run one camp this summer. It will be a combination of Music and Art. Students will split into two groups, rotating between learning about instruments and being part of a band, and the other half will work on art projects related to creating and promoting a band. Josh Klein from Music Makers and I will run the camp OUTSIDE ONLY the week of July 27th. Camp will run fr...om 9:00 - 11:30 for $180 a child. Payments can be made through Venmo @CLL5160 or through snail mail @ 5160 Hamilton Blvd, Allentown, 18106. Registration forms can be filled out the first day of camp. Please call first before submitting payment to confirm availability for the camp and to provide contact information in the instance we cancel camp. ***The following are current guidelines we will strictly follow for the safety of the children, teachers, and families. Please note, guidelines may change if the current situation regarding COVID-19 outbreaks deteriorates, but in no circumstance will we loosen our guidelines from this point forward.*** 1. Camp will run OUTDOORS only. Students will have access to the bathrooms, which are next to the back door and the back yard where we will conduct camp. The restroom will be sanitized after each use. 2. Students must bring their own peanut-free snacks and drinks, where as in other years, we provided these items. 3. Surfaces, materials and instruments will be sanitized before, during, and after the camp day. 4. Pop-up tents will be provided for shade protection, but students must arrive with sunscreen already applied. 5. In the event of inclement weather, we reserve the right to cancel camp for the day and a refund for said day will be issued. If the weather changes during camp hours, we will shelter inside the studio, with predetermined spots for students to sit at least 6 ft apart until parents are notified to pick them up. 6. If COVID-19 numbers in the area start to increase by July 20th, we will cancel camp and issue everyone a full refund. 7. Camp is limited to 10 students total. If camp fills up, we will run it the following week (Aug 3) as well, with all the above mentioned guidelines in place. 8. All parents must sign a daily COVID-19 clearance form when dropping off their child, which we will keep on file. We hope you have a wonderful summer!!!
