Janet Beanland Class of 1958
It’s with indescribable sadness I share the passing of Janet Beanland. Janet lost her fight with COVID today, November 27 after only receiving her positive test results on Nov 16. I have known Janet since at least 1977 when we played with the former Cambridge Springs Community Orchestra. Janet many of you know was the presenter of most of our History Nights in the last two years. With our History Nights, Janet researched the topics and gathered pictures that I put into the po...wer points. Her infectious laugh and funny stories made the nights memorable. She has been an active member of our Heritage Society and just this year took on the role of secretary. Janet also wrote for the Meadville Tribune in her weekly column Heard and Seen where she wrote of the goings on in our community. She looked forward to having voted in person in this November election in spite of COVID risks. Just where she became exposed is unknown. The virus has deeply made its presence known in our rural community nine months since the first death in the US and taken one of our finest. How many more will have to pass before we all take this reality seriously and mask up, socially distance, and wash frequently? Janet’s passing will be long and deeply felt in our Heritage Society. We are all devastated and heart broken by the passing of our dear friend Janet Beanland today from the covid virus.
Joe Styborski's family farm was located on Birchard Road where Ridge Road ends south of Cambridge Springs.
Hmmmm...I wonder who the boy on the bike is. He would be in his late 80's or early 90's by now.
