We just called the Luzerne County Bureau of Elections to confirm where this years polls will be for Dallas Borough. If you usually vote at our building, 25 Main Street, you will still be voting here. If you usually vote at the Back Mountain Memorial Library, you will be getting a card from the LC Bureau of Elections to let you know they changed the poll to Misericordia University. They're not sure which room it will be in at Misericordia yet, but it will be on the new card you will receive in the mail. Again, the change is only for people who usually vote at the Library. If you usually vote at the Borough Building, nothing will change for you. Any questions, call LC Bureau of Elections at (570) 825-1715.

Dallas Borough Curbside Yard Waste Collection & Fall Leaf Pick Up Schedule The last scheduled pick up for the Dallas Borough curbside yard waste collection and recycling program will be October 27, 2020. If you have additional yard waste to be recycled beyond that date, you can drop it off at the composting facility located on State Route 118. Please contact DAMA at 570-696-1133 for hours of operation. The 2020 Dallas Borough Fall Leaf Collection Program will begin the week ...of November 9, 2020. Our Road Department will bring the leaf vacuum to each street in the Borough one time during the collection program which will continue to the end of November or until the first significant snow event of the winter season. If the leaf vacuum truck has already been on your street, residents must bag leaves for pick up at a later date. Do NOT rake leaves out for curbside pick-up after the leaf vacuum truck has already been to your street. The Borough asks that our residents comply with the following leaf collection guidelines: Leaves only (no grass clippings or other yard waste) should be raked to the curbside for vacuum collection. The vacuum equipment will not function properly if residents commingle yard waste with the leaves. Residents are asked to please rake all leaves to the curbside in long thin rows approximately three feet wide. Placing the leaves curbside in this manner will facilitate collection. Do not place any items on the roadway or within gutters. This will create a hazard for drivers and potentially block storm drains. Residents that prefer to collect leaves and place them in plastic bags may do so by placing the bags curbside for pick-up. DON'T FORGET: DALLAS BOROUGH SPRING CLEAN UP STARTS NEXT WEEK - MONDAY, JULY 13TH!! Dallas Borough Announces 2020 Spring Cleanup Schedule and Regulations Dallas Borough Council has announced the schedule for the annual spring cleanup to be held this year July 13th to July 18th at the Dallas Borough Municipal Building, 25 Main Street, Dallas. The hours of operation will be from 7:30 A.M. to 6 P.M. Monday through Friday and 8:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Saturday. Spring cleanup i...s only available to Dallas Borough residents. Regulations will be enforced for the 2020 spring cleanup. Dallas Borough will require all residents to obtain an admission permit for the cleanup and the following fee schedule will be implemented: Cars, SUVs or Minivans require a $15.00 permit (unlimited entry) Pick Up Trucks, Cargo Vans or Utility Trailers require a $25 permit (one trip per permit /three permit maximum per residence) Large vehicles or trailers over one ton require a $90 permit (one trip per permit/ one permit maximum per residence). Proof of residency such as a tax bill or driver’s license will be required to purchase the necessary permit. Admission permits will be issued to the occupants, not owners of Dallas Borough rental units. In an effort to avoid delays at the drop off site during cleanup week, residents are asked to pre-purchase their permits during Borough office hours Monday through Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the Dallas Borough Municipal Building. No refunds will be issued. Residents are reminded that the Borough will not accept household garbage, recyclables including yard waste, toxic or hazardous materials, asbestos, large construction debris, paint/paint cans, batteries, electronics and ashes. The Borough will accept a limited number of non-commercial vehicle tires at a fee of $3 for each tire. Bulky furniture items and large appliances require an additional fee of $5.00 per item. All refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers MUST HAVE DOCUMENTATION that all Freon and other gases have been removed. ACCEPTANCE OR REJECTION OF ANY ITEMS is at the discretion of the Dallas Borough Road Department personnel and Dallas Borough administration.
