An Update from DASD Regarding Quarantine Protocols: Dear Dallastown Families, On Friday, the PA Department of Health (PADoH) updated the quarantine guidance for individuals exposed to COVID-19 to align with the new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). ... Today, Dallastown Area School District reviewed and assessed the potential impact of the latest guidance. Although the District has made extensive efforts to meet the social distancing requirements, it is not guaranteed at all times throughout the student day, therefore shortened quarantine periods as outlined by the latest PADoH release will not be applicable to our Health and Safety Protocols. As a result, the District will maintain the previous protocols for isolation and quarantine due to positive cases and/or exposure of close contacts. Health care providers and/or PADoH notes will be reviewed by school nurses, however quarantine dates will continue to align with district quarantine protocols. By following the DASD quarantine protocols outlined below, the District is able to continue to support the efforts to offer in-person instruction for as long as possible and to reduce the potential for school community transmission. As a reminder, here are the DASD Quarantine Protocols: Individuals who test positive for COVID-19, will isolate for a period of 10 days from the first date of symptoms. An individual who is identified as a close contact through a contact tracing investigation should quarantine for 14 days based on the last date of exposure to the positive case. Please note that household quarantines can last for a period of up to 24 days. We continue to encourage our community to be extra cautious during the holiday season. In the event that your child or a member of your household develops symptoms found on the DASD Daily Symptom Screening Tool, please contact your child’s building nurse(s). Thank you for your continued support and for doing your part to keep your family, friends, and fellow community members safe and healthy.
The PA Department of Health has aligned its quarantine guidance for people exposed to COVID-19 with the new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced earlier this week that provides an option for a 10-day quarantine without testing or a seven-day quarantine with a negative test on or after day-five of quarantine. The district is assessing the impact of this change and will update DASD families if / when district protocols are altered.

Highlights of this project included a separate Junior High and Senior High area, auditorium, cafeteria, gymnasium, and outdoor athletic fields including the same concrete bleachers that stand today - almost 61 years later. #DASDHistory
