Many herbs can be grown on an indoor windowsill in the winter, so why not grow-your-own this December to use in holiday recipes? Bumper Crop Organic Grower's Mix is a great soil for your indoor herb garden. To yield the best harvest, fertilizing with a little Bumper Crop Organic Plant Food. #indoorherbgarden #windowsillherbs
Amaryllis can be enjoyed all winter long. If potted up now, you can have blooms in 6 to 8 weeks. It's important, especially if you plan to hold your bulbs over until next year, to plant your Amaryllis in a premium planting medium like Gardener's Gold Organic Potting Soil. #amaryllis #holidayplants
Initially, a newly cut tree will take up a lot of water. Check the water level in the tree stand frequently, up to two times a day. Never allow the water to drop below the cut surface of the trunk. If you allow this to happen, sap will clog the cut surface and the tree will be unable to take up any more water. The only remedy is to remove the tree from its stand and recut the trunk. #christmastree
To prolong their bloom time, keep Amaryllis and paperwhites out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources and vents when blooming. #amaryllis #paperwhites
With the garden put to rest for the winter, December is a great time to clean, oil and sharpen your pruners to make sure that they are in good working order for dormant pruning in January and February. Need a new pair of pruners, or loppers and saws for the bigger jobs? These make great holiday gifts. #gardening #gardentools
