He is rescue-only because he is heartworm positive. It's so sad when people don't use HW prevention to protect their dogs - it isn't that expensive and can save your dog's life. Now he could either lose his life in the shelter, or have to endure rigorous treatment, through no fault of his own. The rescue will pay all expenses, all he needs is a foster who will give him the rest he needs through the treatment process. It doesn't have to be permanent (unless you want it to be) and would save his life. <3 Here are ways you can help him: 1.)
