We are specialists in Disc Film scanning well, not exactly scanning (we don't use a scanner for any kind of film) but in Disc Film digitization. While we can compete with any other scanning company on all other film formats and we can digitize any film type or format you have - Disc films present what is almost certainly the most difficult and challenging film to digitize. They can't be scanned by a standard scanner because they have a plastic hub in the center, whi...ch gets in the way so some companies just cut the hub out! What's more, the images are very tiny just 0.39 x 0.31. This means that even if you do try to scan them, the resolution is horrible a 3000 dpi (dots per inch) scanner (that's better than a 2000 dpi standard scanner) give you an image that is just 1170 pixels x 930 pixels that's a one megapixel photo! What's more you'll pay (or actually, OVER-pay) anywhere from $20 - $39 per Disc for those decidedly poor results. We have a much better way. We don't scan Disc films (or any other kinds of films for that matter). Instead, we actually photograph each frame on the Disc with a 24 MP camera, using a macro lens a lens that is specifically designed for use in extreme close-up photography. The result is that we can produce images from Disc films that have over 10,000 dpi resolution (a 14 MP photo!) many times better than other services can provide. What's more we only charge $15/Disc for full (Premier) service, which includes image upgrades. One of the photos in this post shows the three stages of image recovery from a Disc film that we perform to produce the best possible images. A Happy Customer Here's an email we received last week from a Customer: I am not sure how I won the customer service lottery, but I am blown away. Blown, blown, blown away. To have my mom's wedding shots, with images so perfect that I can see down to the freckles on her face, is almost overwhelming. Before finding your services, I thought old-timey negatives could never do the job of an iPhone 10. You have proven me wrong. Both the clarity and the stunning colors are mo...re than I could have imagined. To top it off, your detailed emails and along with your generosity go unmatched. The only way I know how to pay you back is to tell everyone about Digital Conversions and the guy that runs it; I have already started sharing your work and contact information. A customer for life- Emily For background, when this Customer's shipment arrived, we were surprised to find five reels of 8mm movie film packed along with the 35mm slides (not negatives). It was a surprise because this is not a service that we provided, or advertised. As it turns out, the material was packed by a family member, because our Customer was traveling, and the person did not realize that the films were not a part of the order. This left us with a choice we could just return the films unconverted, along with the processed slides, or we could find a way to expand our offerings to include film processing, and completely digitize the entire package for our Customer. Our decision was to take the latter course. Over the three plus years that we have been in business, we have received numerous inquiries about both film and video tapes. With the impetus of this order, we finally decided it was time to expand our offerings, which we have now done. In our correspondence with Emily, we also learned that her travel schedule would keep her away for several months, and thus she would not see the results of her photo conversions until she returned home. So, we made arrangements for her to retrieve a portion of her photos (the entire order was over 400 slides) from a download service, so that she could at least enjoy some of them. She mentions the level of detail in the digital photos this is a result of the proprietary process we use to digitize photos. We photograph slides and negatives with a 16MP camera. This gives much more detail and better resolution than you get with a conventional scanner. Much also depends, of course, on the condition of the slides or negatives themselves. In this case, the wedding slides were well-preserved. Our approach to our Customers is one of trying our best to meet their needs and preferences wherever possible, including things like customizing directory structures and notations to conform to what our Customer wants and needs. We will do the same for you. For more information, please see our website: https://digitalconversions.biz/index-fb.html
