Old Man Winter is upon us. Below are some helpful tips to keep your vehicle in top condition during these winter months. 1. Replace regular tires for winter tires. Even without snow, winter tires are recommended, where temperatures fall below 45 degrees. They provide better traction while turning or stopping on cold pavement. 2. Check tire pressure weekly. In colder months, you will lose a pound of pressure for every 10 degree drop in temperature. Driving on under inflated t...ires will cause your tires to wear more quickly. 3. Keep your fuel tank half full. It’s a good idea to keep it at least half full in the event of an emergency or if you get stuck in the snow. 4. Windshield wipers. If parking outdoors, leave your windshield wipers in the upright position so they will not freeze to windshield. Never use wipers to remove ice from windshield. This will cause them to deteriorate quickly and will not be effective. 5. Fluids. Be sure all of your fluids are topped off or changed. See more
