Pups skills and goals. This is what we expect at 12 weeks from our puppies graduating Puppy Camp. This is Remy, a puppy from Shadow who stayed here for puppy camp after his siblings left, showing off his stuff. And a fresh graduate or puppy camp!... Crate behaviour: politely waiting (on command) and not coming out until given the OK literally. Then waiting to be leashed. This rolls into waiting for open doors as well. Loose leash walking: watch how there is slack 95% of the time. He simply walks with me. Attention: interest in his surroundings but still paying attention to me even when distractions pop up. A quick name call, kiss sound brings his focus right back. Sitting/down/come: anywhere, anytime. This is practised of and on all day everywhere so the behavior is generalised (meaning it will be performed anywhere, not just in the kitchen in the "right" spot ) Stairs: Being able to use the stairs without fear and safely. Not barreling up or down them. Behaviors trained but not shown: Dog manners: showing the righ amount of submission and energy when around other dog of all sizes. Playing and self inhibition: when playing being able to say "enough" and they not only let loose but also collect themselves and have a brain still. Puppy manners around people. 4paws on the ground! No jumping, biting, hanging onto shoes/socks/pants etc. This inlcudes being polite to toddlers and small children. The pups demeanor overal. Happy, polite, confident yet controlled.
