Have to take a moment to brag on our cows! These 210 girls produced 20,682 pounds of milk in one day! That averages out to 98 pounds or 11.4 gallons of milk per cow per day! That the highest production our cows have achieved to date!
Lots of cows are soon to start calving! The average gestation of a cow is 279-287 days!

A fresh hot meal is the absolute best! We pastuerize our milk from our cows and feed it to our calves. Pasteurization works by heating the milk to 145 degrees fahrenheit for 30 minutes then cooling to 110 degrees fahrenheit so it is the perfect temperature for feeding calves!
So what do we do with male calves? Treat them the same as we do our female calves! Bull calves recieve the same care as heifer calves until we sell them at 3-7 days of age where they will be raised as steers for beef!
The snow continues to come down and turn the farm into a winter wonderland! What is the weather like where you are?!?
